Tension escalated over the weekend following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade from 1973 who recognized constitutional right of women to abortion . Jodie Sweetin released her statement after the protest. She did not address the situation with the officers, saying instead that she was proud of those who showed up to protest and she promised to continue fighting for women’s rights. She said:
I am extremely proud of the hundreds of people who came forward yesterday to exercise their First Amendment rights and take immediate action to peacefully protest the grave injustices committed by our Supreme Court. Our activism will continue until our voices are heard and action is taken. This will not stop us, we will continue to fight for our rights. We are not free until we are ALL free.
