‘I’m Just Ken’: Ryan Gosling sets Oscars on fire with Barbie song

This was the most anticipated music sequence of the 96th Academy Awards and it delivered on all its promises. During the event, Ryan Gosling donned his Ken costume to perform the now famous song “I’m Just Ken” from the worldwide box office hit Barbie.

If the actor was initially hesitant to perform during the ceremony, he silenced all rumors and confirmed his musical sequence at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.

Despite the disappointment of not seeing his partner and producer Margot Robbie and director Greta Gerwig in the nominations for the film about the famous doll (8 in number), Ryan Gosling sang the song at the Oscars.

Ryan Gosling will perform for the evening

From the audience and behind Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling began singing “I’m Just Ken” and removed his cowboy hat before joining Mark Ronson on stage. Dressed in a bright pink suit, the actress set the stage on fire in the colors of the film.

Like a true showman, Ryan Gosling shined in the Dolby Theater while dancers carried large barbie doll head signs. He was later joined by fellow Kensi film stars Simu Liu, Kingsley Ben-Adri, Nkuti Gatwa and Scott Evans.

He then joined Margot Robbie, Greta Gerwig and America Ferrera to include them, but also Emma Stone, with whom he shared the poster in three films, Crazy, Stupid, Love, Gangster Squad and, of course, La La Land.

After this already iconic performance, another Barbie song won the Oscar for Best Original Song, namely “What Was I Made For”, performed by Billie Eilish.
