Neve Campbell will return as Sidney Prescott in Scream 7

The actress also revealed that Kevin Williamson, creator of the story along with Wes Craven (1939-2015), will direct the new chapter of the slasher franchise

Now it’s official: Neve Campbell will return as Sydney Prescott in Scream 7! After being left out of the 6th film in the franchise, released in 2023, the actress announced, on her social media, that she will return to play the iconic final girl of the franchise slasher.

“I’m very happy to announce this news!!! Sydney Prescott is coming back!!!! It’s always been a blast and an honor to play Sydney in the movies Panic. My appreciation for these films and what they meant to me has never waned. I am very happy and proud to say that I was asked, in the most respectful way, to bring Sydney back on screen and I couldn’t be more thrilled!!!”the actress wrote under a photo of the script for the 7th film.

And the return of Neve Campbell is not the only new thing. In her publication, the actress also revealed that the new chapter will be directed by Kevin Williamsonresponsible for the scripts for the first four films, directed by Wes Craven (1939-2015):

“While I was very lucky to make these films with horror master Wes Craven and the wonderfully talented team of Matt and Tyler, I have dreamed for many years how incredible it would be to make one of these films with Kevin Williamson at the helm. And now it’s happening , Kevin Williamson will direct Scream 7!”he added.

“This was his baby and it was his brilliant mind that dreamed up this world. Kevin is not only an inspiration as an artist, but also a dear friend for many years. To the amazing Scream fans, I hope you are as excited as I am. See you on set”completed Campbell.
