The new procedure does not require a visit to the notary’s office and the payment of the fee can be made via pix; see how it works and find out who can use it
Vehicle ownership transfers can now be made in the state of Sao Paulo without the need to go to the notary’s office. The Traffic Department of the State of São Paulo (Detran-SP) has begun processing digital transfers.
Digital Vehicle Transfer (TDV) will be available on the Poupatempo app. The process, 100% automated, is unprecedented in the country and will be valid for sellers and buyers who have a gov.br account at Silver or Gold level
In this first phase, the process will apply to transfers of ownership between private individuals of vehicles who already have the CRV-e in digital format, within the territory of the State. Payment of the transfer fee will be made via photo in the application. The value is R$272.27.
In the new format the digital transfer of vehicles will take place within a period of approximately five minutes. To do this, it is sufficient to first carry out a vehicle inspection at an accredited inspection company (ECV). Before the digitalization of the service, the deadline to complete the process was three to ten working days.
The new format eliminates the need to go to the notary’s office, since it already allows for digital authentication and it is not necessary to recognize signatures for authenticity.
The TDV will take place in three phases. The first begins for “individual” sellers and buyers. In the first phase, digital vehicle transfers will be available for models produced after January 2021, equipped with Mercosul license plate and digital CRVe (registration document), in the State of Sao Paulo.
Transfers made with vehicles produced before January 2021, but equipped with a digital CRVe (registration certificate), will also be covered, provided that the new owner is domiciled in the same municipality as the registered vehicle which is the subject of the negotiation.
In the latter cases it will not be necessary to replace the “grey plate” with the standard Mercosul plate.
In a second phase, legal entities will be included, as in the first phase. In this period there will also be e-notary, with the conversion by notary offices of vehicle ownership documents produced before 2021 from paper format to electronic format.
The next phase, in a third moment, will involve dematerialisation, when owners of vehicles produced before 2021, holders of the “green” CRV, will be able to previously convert the documents into electronic format at notary offices and complete the digital transfer in electronic format . the application environment.
