ELIS & TOM receives award for Best Documentary at an international festival

The Brazilian documentary was awarded at the SEEYOUSOUND™ International Music Film Festival 2024 in the ‘Best Documentary’ category

The Italian festival SEEYOUSOUND™ International Music Film Festival 2024awarded the Brazilian documentary “Elis & Tom, It Just Had to Be With You” in the Best Documentary category. The festival and awards ceremony took place at the beginning of March in Turin, Italy, is dedicated to films about music and this year celebrates its tenth edition. Over the 10 days, feature-length fiction and documentary films, shorts and music videos are shown, which are evaluated in the LongPlay Doc, LongPlay Feature, 7Inch and Soundies categories.

The documentary brings an immersive experience to the viewer, exploring and revealing intimate moments of the creative process and personality of Antônio Carlos (Tom) Jobim and Elis Regina. In addition, never-before-seen scenes, originating from recordings from more than 50 years ago.

“Elis and Tom, It Just Had to Be With You” is a production by Rinoceronte Entretenimento, in collaboration with Riofilme, an entity of the Municipal Secretariat of Culture and was sponsored by the City of Rio de Janeiro, Municipal Secretariat of Culture, assistance from Rio Galeão, União Brasileira de Compositores (UBC) and from Universal Music Group. The work also received public resources managed by the National Cinema Agency (ANCINE), the Regional Development Bank of the Far South (BRDE) and the Audiovisual Sector Fund (FSA).
