The bus hijacking in Rio is the second in just over two months

In January this year, criminals held around 20 passengers from Angra dos Reis hostage for 16 kilometers during a robbery

The kidnapping involving 17 passengers at the bus station in Rio de Janeiro, this Tuesday the 12th, was the second of its kind in a space of just over two months. On the night of January 2, a bus coming from Angra dos Reis was robbed and approximately 20 passengers were held captive for approximately 16 km.

On that occasion, the suspects reported a robbery in Avenida Francisco Bicalho, near the Novo Rio bus station, and one of them, armed, forced the driver to take a new road, towards Avenida Brasil. The passengers, whose cell phones and watches were stolen by the first suspect’s two accomplices, were released near the Complexo da Maré, in the northern area.

The kidnapping took place last Tuesday on a bus stopped at the Novo Rio bus station and the negotiations lasted about 3 hours. Remember:
