30 years after The Crow with Brandon Lee, who tragically died during the filming of the movie, the Crow will return to the big screen in the form of Bill Skarsgård. On June 5, Avenging Spirit fans will be able to discover this remake of Rupert Sanders, to whom we especially owe the live-action Ghost In The Shell.
A mullet cut and a large number of tattoos, Bill Skarsgård transforms into the role of this silent and tortured hero. Between John Wick and the Joker, this violent and brutal trailer promises an extremely dark work.
“Billy is unpleasantly handsome, and when he transforms after his loss, he becomes something he can’t even control. It’s a famous phrase: one who fights monsters must be careful not to become one.”explains the film director.
To create his version of the character, the director explained to Vanity Fair that he took more inspiration from his personal story than from the graphic novel and the original 1994 film.
Rupert Sanders emphasized that the hero’s appearance was inspired by his youth. “It was me in the ’90s, hanging out in London, mixed with modern influences like singers Post Malone and Lil Peep.” indicates the director.
“I hope people who are 19 years old today look at him and say, ‘That boy is us.’ This picture shows the beginning of his transformation into Crow. This is the moment when we give up, when we realize that something bad is happening.”

For reference, The Crow tells the story of Eric Draven and his fiancée, who are murdered by a gang. Eric is then revived by the spade and returns for revenge. James O’Barry’s work has already undergone several adaptations.
Obviously we can cite Alex Proyas’ The Crow, released in 1994 and directed by Brandon Lee. There were also its sequels, City of Angels with Vincent Perez (1997), Salvation (2000) with Eric Mabius and Kirsten Dunst, and The Crow Wicked Prayer with Edward Furlong and David Boreanaz. Unforgettably the late 1990s television series hosted by Mark Dacascos.
The new version of Crow is scheduled to hit our theaters on June 5.
