Wildcat: Film directed by Ethan Hawke and starring Maya Hawke gets trailer

In an interview with People, Ethan explained that his daughter and he decided to work together because she “wanted to make a film about a young woman in which the primary relationship in the film would be the character and her work”.

“Everyone who knows Maya They know she’s a force,” the father said of his daughter. “She always has been. She writes and plays her own music, she loves acting, she loves painting and she’s like an artistic animal.”

There are a lot of films about men and their relationships with themselves and their jobs, but you don’t see many films about young women that deal with that. I think she saw in the experience of Flannery a real challenge — a really complex portrait of a person who deserves to have her story told, and I think the actress in her saw that.

Ethan He added, “I think it was an honor for us to collaborate with everyone on the production. So many people were so talented around us, and it was fun to be in a band together.”
