It features Riley’s new emotions that she develops at age 13, which will suppress the primal emotions we met in the first movie: Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Anger and Fear.
After locking them in a jar, Anxiety, Shame, Envy, and Ennui are shown taking control of Riley’s mind, but something interesting the trailer showed was how Anxiety manifests.

However, the first preview of ‘Inside Out 2’ made it clear that Anxiety doesn’t work the same way. In the scene in which Riley’s mind is in charge, no memories appear, only thoughts created by her and an army of servants under her command.
That is, Riley, instead of “creating memories”, throws out a series of imaginary scenarios that she could experience in critical and unsafe situations. For example, in the trailer, there’s a moment where a boy notices the protagonist’s new friend instead of her, and another where he envisions himself falling into an ice rink. Both are scenarios that don’t exist, but that create an insecurity, like everything else on the screen.
This means that there will be a significant change in Riley’s emotions, which suggests that the “new invaders” may also have their own way of manifesting, which is different from what he has seen before.
