Uncharted, Tomb Raider, Pokemon: Video game adaptations continue to make their way into the movies. So this week, it’s Sonic coming back to our screens for the second part. The famous Blue Hedgehog is always accompanied by James Marsden, as well as the return of Jim Carrey under the horrible Doctor Robotnik mustache. Sonic will team up with a new partner, Little Fox Tails, and meet an expected opponent: Scary On the knees.
In terms of future adaptations, we are expecting an animated feature film from the Mario game, which is scheduled for release in late 2022, and in terms of series, a very promising Halo and The Last of Us.
And when they are not adaptations, it is the actors who can find themselves in the video game to become the main characters. We obviously think of Neo in the Matrix trilogy, or more recently Ryan Reynolds and Jody Comer in the film Free Guy, or even Gareth Hedlund and Olivia Wilde in the legacy of the Tron in 2010.
