The Japanese economy is no longer in deflation and there is a strong upward trend in wages, Japanese Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki said on Friday (local time).
Politicians, including Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Suzuki, have repeatedly said in recent days that the country is not yet capable of declaring a solid exit from deflation.
The government will mobilize all available measures to continue the positive momentum on wages, Suzuki said, declining to comment on the Bank of Japan’s monetary policy measures at its meeting next week.
