Michael Keaton reveals his fear in the fight against Danny DeVito and Schwarzenegger

In a joking tone, Michael Keaton agrees to fight against the actors who had called him into question at the Oscars, but admits that he is afraid of his opponent

After a quick interaction during the Oscar ceremony last Sunday (10th), the actor Michael Keaton revealed that he would accept a fight against actors Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger, as they themselves suggested during the film festival. Furthermore, the eternal Batman reveals which of the two opponents would be the most dangerous in a fight.

The conversation arose during an interview on the program Jimmy Kimmel live, in which the host questioned the actors’ interaction with Keaton during the ceremony, which was considered one of the highlights of the event. On the occasion, Schwarzenegger and DeVito went on stage to present the award for best visual effects and took the opportunity to remember that both were Batman villains in the cinema and it was then that they pointed to Keaton as the personification of Batman.

When Kimmer asked if he would agree to fight the two actors, Keaton joined in and confirmed that he would participate in the fight. However, he revealed that he has huge concerns about one specific opponent: Danny DeVito.

“It’s Danny that worries me because he’s sneaky,” explains the actor who faced DeVito on the big screen as Batman in Batman: Return. “He sneaks up on you without you knowing. He has an advantage because he’s so short.”

According to Keaton, the fact that the actor measures only 1.47 makes him very dangerous. “You don’t know where he is, so he’s always lurking,” he jokes. “I don’t care about the other one. He’s very slow,” he says, referring to Schwarzenegger.

Obviously the battle will never take place. Not only because we are talking about seventy-year-old actors – the youngest is Keaton, 72, while DeVito is already 79 – but for the simple fact that the whole conversation started as a joke and no one took the dispute seriously. Still, it’s fun to see the actors embrace the joke, taking it outside of the Oscars to reignite a rivalry involving such classic films and iconic characters.

It’s worth mentioning, however, that the Batman who defeated Schwarzenegger’s Mr. Freeze was not Michael Keaton. The actor only participated in the first two films of the saga directed by Tim Burton — Batman AND Batman: Return —, while the eternal Terminator participated in the fourth feature film, Batman and Robinin which George Clooney played the hero.
