Hidrovias do Brasil and Rumo announced on Friday an agreement for the rail transport of imported fertilizers through the terminal of the port of Santos, in the state of Sao Paulo, with an annual volume estimated at 500 thousand tons.
Before the deal, Hidrovias do Brasil already received fertilizer through its terminal in Santos, but did not ship it by rail.
Now, after the cargo is unloaded at the Santos terminal, the products will follow the railway to the Central West, an important agricultural region of Brazil, according to Hidrovias do Brasil.
