Doctor Who: Where and when will season 14 with the new Doctor air?

This year, Doctor Who will enter a new era with its fourteenth season, which marks a brand new departure for the iconic program. Broadcast from 1963 to 1989, the iconic series returned in 2005 with a modernized series starring Christopher Eccleston as the title character.

The feature of Dr. House is supposed to be an alien from the planet Gallifrey who travels through time and space on his TARDIS. This time lord also has the peculiarity of being able to change his appearance (and therefore his interpreter) every time he is seriously injured.

Fourteen incarnations of the Doctor have seen the light of day in the sixty years of the program’s existence, including Matt Smith and David Tennant, and Jodie Whittaker – the first actor to choose his features for the Time Lord.

A new beginning in the cult series

The Fifteenth Doctor will also be played by his first actor of colour: Nkuti Gatwa, who will be introduced in late 2023 during special episodes to mark the series’ sixtieth anniversary. The latter is joined on his adventures by a new companion, Ruby Sunday, played by Millie Gibson (who will not return for season 15).

For the first time, the series will be broadcast simultaneously worldwide. While Season 14 will be offered on the BBC in the UK, the program will air internationally on Disney+ from May 11.

Whovians are also hoping that the platform will add the full previous ten seasons, but also episodes of the first Doctor Who series, in the coming weeks.

No date has been announced yet, so you’ll have to wait until you can hopefully find every episode of the show on the streaming service!

Season 14 of Doctor Who can be seen exclusively on Disney+ starting May 11, with one episode per week.
