The aliens of the Apple TV+ series Invasion continue their presence on Earth. While its second season ended in October 2023, fans were waiting to see if a season 3 order would be ordered – and instead they were expecting bad news… Nope: the rather unique sci-fi drama will indeed be getting a third season! And the production of this third chapter should have already started.
Thus, we will be able to continue the fascinating – and surprisingly quiet – exploration of this extraterrestrial invasion, told from the point of view of half a dozen characters spread across the planet.
While we don’t know much about the upcoming episodes, series creator Simon Kinberg assures that he and his team will continue to perfect the story.
“I’m very proud of what we’ve been able to do in the first two seasons of the series with our Apple TV+ partners, cast and crew.“, the statement said. “This new season will continue to build on the scale, stakes, and drive of Invasion while keeping our characters at the forefront, bringing them together in ways that will hopefully surprise and, most importantly, move our audience, who have been incredible. It has been helping and inspiring us since day one.“
- All series were canceled and renewed in 2024 for streaming and television
And if this isn’t the first time (and won’t be the last) that an alien invasion has been told on the small or big screen, Cut it It has a team-based, anti-spectacle and real-time narrative feature, while the planet is in chaos and from the point of view of people living in different regions of the world.
Less excited than War of the Worlds, to which it is often compared – and therefore less desperate for hyper-paced action – the series focuses on the psychology of the characters and spends time developing them as close as possible. Such (and possible) reality. Add in suspense, stunning cinematography, and gorgeous special effects, and you’ve got the aliens of the genre—literally.
- Apple TV+: Behold, the Foundation… Four original creations for sci-fi fans
The series stars Golshifteh Farrakhan, Shioli Kutzuna, Shamier Anderson, India Brown, Billy Barratt, Aji Robertson, Paddy Holland (yes, yes, Tom Holland’s little brother) and Tara Moayed.
Cut it is part of Apple TV+’s bold sci-fi and thriller series, which also includes For All Mankind with Joel Kinnaman, The Foundation with Jared Harris, Silo with Rebecca Ferguson, The Breakup with Adam Scott, Hello Tomorrow! with Billy Crudup, as well as the upcoming Sugar with Colin Farrell and Dark Matter starring Jennifer Connelly and Joel Edgerton.
In anticipation of Invasion season 3, its first two seasons can be (re)discovered on Apple TV+.
