BBB | Wanessa embraces denialism and seeks to change the narrative of expulsion

In an interview with “Fantástico”, the singer denied having persecuted, attacked and committed acts of racism against Davi on Big Brother Brazil

Wanessa Camargo was expelled from “BBB 24” after attacking Davi Brito, but declared on Sunday’s “Fantástico” (3/17) that she had not committed any assault. Recorded Friday (3/15), Wanessa’s first interview since her expulsion attempted to change the narrative of her expulsion. She also denied several actions committed during her imprisonment that were shown to all of Brazil.

Davi was sleeping when the singer entered the Magic room drunk. He approached his brother’s bed, bent down to position himself, and landed a light closed-handed punch on his leg. David woke up and looked uncomfortable. He reported it and the situation was assessed by the production of “Big Brother Brasil” as subject to expulsion. Wanessa, however, tried to downplay the situation, saying she was surprised by the producers’ decision. “It was something unintentional, an uncomfortable and unfunny joke, not an attack,” she said.

Denial of aggression

“I was at a party. I drank a little more than the bill. I was very excited at the party. I went to play on the bed and then, dancing with my arms, I remember that my hand touched the bed and hit Davi’s foot. And , at that moment, I realized that I was uncomfortable and I apologized to him. And then I went to sleep. I woke up with the alarm clock and ‘Wanessa confessional’. I also said: ‘My God, what have I done? “. I went as I did, braless, in my pajamas, sat in the confessional and received the news that I had been disqualified for assault. And I left in tears,” she said.

When asked if she thought her departure from the attraction was right, the singer elaborated on her strategy of denial, even if she had to deal with the inevitable fact of being expelled for assault. “From the standpoint of whether it was fair to the rules of the program, I think it was fair. As far as fair play, I don’t think it was fair,” she said.

He then used an attack against Davi that went viral upon his departure. The situation, recorded on video, shows Davi slipping and giving Wanessa a dolly during a dispute with Pique Bandeira. Wanessa tried to compare the two moments as if they were the same thing, saying that she could also have asked for her rival’s expulsion.

Denial of racism

Shortly after, she commented on the accusations that she had been racist towards Davi. The singer herself recorded a video in which she admitted to having committed structural racism, but in the interview she tried to use this as a shield, stating that she “had no intention of committing racism at any time”.

“I was really scared,” Wanessa said of the allegations, which she discovered when she left the house. “People, when we are in a situation as serious as the word racism, it was something I couldn’t wear. I listened a lot to people and people who have a place to speak on this topic. What I wanted to say in this video [do racismo estrutural] I just didn’t intend to commit racism at any point. What I understand about structural racism and what I don’t understand yet, because I have 12 days away from home, and I want to know it, I want to understand and I want to learn. I’ve always understood it differently, because I lacked time, and here I recognize it, I missed stopping and understanding it,” he said.

Regarding having said she was afraid of Davi, she explained: “I understand it a lot now. I understand this place of pain and it wasn’t my intention. I didn’t say the word violent. I said it like him sometimes “I chose it I clashed in an aggressive way that I didn’t like. When I got here, I was scared of how people saw it. I was scared by a lot of things taken out of context because we have a very problematic social network relationship.”

Denial of persecution

After blaming social media, she denied several actions she committed, confronting in the edition the opposite of what she claimed. She denied stalking Davi, for example, while “Fantástico” showed her openly stalking Bahians, chasing people who liked her to change their opinions.

“I had problems living together because of the attitudes he had at home that bothered me. What I recognized is that I am a privileged white person and that I will never know how sensitive they can be towards other people. For me it has always been a game issue. It was never a question of race, nor of color, it never was,” he reiterated, once again denying racism, after admitting to having committed “structural racism” in a video on social media .
