“When I graduated [em jornalismo], I moved into a very old apartment and furnished it as best I could. I decided to start a blog, called Mania de Decoração, to share with my friends my ideas on what I was creating to decorate my home in a more accessible way,” says Ráisa about the beginning of it all.
His work began primarily with craftsmanship. Over time he became interested in carpentry and the reinterpretation of waste furniture. “It was a creative challenge that I set myself. I really enjoy. With creativity we can change our environment, our home and even the world,” she explains.
Today, in addition to his success on social media, where he explains in practical tutorials how to furnish a room in a simple, unique and sustainable way. Mania de Decoração also has collaborations with several stores.
Sustainability
“Disposal, and what it will become later, is something that needs to be thought through very well, even from the beginning of production,” says Ráisa. Refurbishing furniture is a way to reduce excess waste and landfill accumulation, as well as working with the environment and encouraging your own production. Who doesn’t like furnishing their home with unique, beautiful and affordable furniture?
“I believe that this second possibility, this second look, using creativity to change the world, in this sense of reuse, is essential for the world we want to leave to future generations, for the world we want to live in,” explains the designer.
