Musk claims that the use of ketamine is beneficial for investors

CEO Elon Musk argued that his ketamine prescription is beneficial to Tesla investors in a taped interview with former CNN host Don Lemon released Monday.

Musk said the substance helps him manage a “negative chemical state” similar to depression in the interview this month that also covered topics such as politics, content moderation about X and Tesla.

“From Wall Street’s perspective, it’s all about execution,” said Musk, who runs the automaker, rocket company SpaceX and social media platform X. Musk has argued that Tesla is worth as much as the rest of the industry combined automotive.

“For investors, if I’m taking something, I should keep taking it.”

A Wall Street Journal investigation published in January said Musk was using drugs such as LSD, cocaine, ecstasy and psychedelic mushrooms, worrying executives and board members at his companies.

The report raises concerns that illegal drug use could constitute a violation of federal policies, which could jeopardize government contracts for SpaceX.

Musk responded to the X report in January, claiming he agreed to three years of random drug testing at the request of SpaceX partner NASA.

“No traces of drugs or alcohol were found,” Musk said.

Musk told Lemon he has a prescription for ketamine. The billionaire estimates he takes in “a small amount every two weeks.”

Musk did not respond to Reuters’ request for comment.
