Beachgoers report a moment of fright when the ultralight passes over Bertioga beach, in Sao Paulo

Beachgoers experienced tense moments as an ultralight aircraft passed over a beach in Bertioga, on the coast of Sao Paulo, last weekend. Images circulating on social media this Monday 18th show the plane dipping and making an irregular landing on the sand strip (see above).

OR Earth ascertained that the incident occurred last Sunday, the 17th, on Guaratuba beach. In the images it is possible to see the moment in which the ultralight flies near the strip of sand at the edge of the beach. Witnesses also reported that this is not the first time the plane has flown over the region.

According to the legislation that regulates the flight rules of the National Agency for Civil Aviation (Anac), it is forbidden to land on sand strips, except in emergency situations. The municipality of Bertioga also prohibits the take-off of free flight equipment without the authorization of the municipality’s Department of Tourism and Culture.

To the Earth, the Military Police reported that they had not received any type of call regarding the case. Not even the firefighters were called. Anac specifies that the responsibility for the inspection lies with the Department for Airspace Control (Decea).
