Irish fighter Conor McGregor says he is ready to return to the UFC octagons. After taking a break from the world of fighting to focus on his acting career, the former champion talks about a return to MMA.
– I can’t wait to get back, reset, recalibrate and remap my return to the Octagon. I can not wait. We are in the first quarter of 2024. We still have a good part of the year ahead of us. I still have two fights left on my contract. Negotiations are ongoing. When the promotional work of the film and St. Patrick’s Day are over, it will be necessary to isolate and concentrate on returning to the octagon – McGregor said.
Although he plans to return to fighting, the Irishman does not rule out taking action again in the future.
– Not at the time. After (the fight), maybe next year or something. I do not know. I will never say “never”, because I had a lot of fun and made friends that I will keep for a lifetime. I enjoyed the process. Who knows what the future holds for this sector? – explained the former champion.
McGregor hasn’t fought since breaking a bone in his leg against Dustin Poirier in July 2021. The fighter has expressed hopes of fighting in the UFC on June 29.
