Bridgetton on Netflix: Fans hate his character, actor responds to haters

The second season of The Bridgerton Chronicle sparked passion after its March 25 release on Netflix. Fans are divided over the love story of Anthony Bridgetton (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Sharma (Simon Ashley) based on a slow rise in desire rather than the very sensual scenes that abounded during the inaugural season.

But this lack of sharpness until the last episode is not the only criticism by fans of Season 2 of The Bridgerton Chronicle. Charitra Chandran, played by Edvina Sharma, Kate’s little sister, who was declared the Diamond of the Season and was first liked by Anthony, has drawn the ire of some fans.

The unfortunate young actress loved messages of hatred and trolls towards Edvina’s character, which, despite herself, was an obstacle in the relationship between Anthony and Kate. Fans also worried that Edwina might damage her own relationship with half-sister Kate.

Because you should know that Edwina’s character in the series’s far more important than in the Julia Quinn books from which the series is adapted, and that the love triangle between Edwina, Kate and Anthony was invented. Therefore, the anger of the fans comes from the fact that the writers did not follow the novel “Asom”. Viscount, which I loved.

If you’ve watched Season 2 of The Bridgerton Chronicle, you know that Anthony and Kate have a happy ending and that Edwina is happy to be married to Kate and her new family. So the excessive fear of some fans was unfounded.

But that did not stop some people from attacking actress Charitra Chandran by editing the series from official posters via Photoshop. Such hateful action greatly offended the actor who confided in the subject Entertainment Weekly :

“It was hard. Sure, a bit disappointing, but I also read, ‘How can you comment and have such extreme reactions to something you do not know?’ I do not know what to say and I can not lie. Connection. But also, it does not mean that there will be a quarrel between the two.Sisters and it is more difficult.

In fact, the series is very nuanced. It’s so hard and you can not see the quarrel between the sisters. It seems that Edvina is hostile to Kate because she loves him so much. At the end of episode 6, he cares about Anthony and tells him “You idiot and I deserve better, so go for it.”While with Kate, this is a more painful situation because they are closer. It’s a product of love, not a product of hatred. “[…)Alorsqu’avecKatec’estunesituationplusdouloureuseparcequ’ellessontbienplusprochesC’estunproduitdel’amourpasunproduitdelahaine”[…)Alorsqu’avecKatec’estunesituationplusdouloureuseparcequ’ellessontbienplusprochesC’estunproduitdel’amourpasunproduitdelahaine”

Charitra Chandran also asked showman Chris Van Dussen that his character be not only a narrative tool, but also that Edvina be a character in a peculiar, complex and real evolution. The wish that the actor saw was fulfilled:

“Before filming, I said to Chris Van Dussen, ‘I do not want Edwin to be just a thread for someone else’s story or a way to move the story forward.’ I want him to have his own identity, his own story and his own narrative. History.
