After completing the billion-dollar purchase, “Fitbit by Google” is now “Google Fitbit”

Google abandons the classic Fitbit brand with dotted logo; the company is now incorporated once and for all as Google’s line of wearables

After announcing the purchase of Fitbit in late 2020 for $2.1 billion, and regulatory agencies approved the acquisition months later Google incorporated the wearables brand in 2022 by announcing a name change from “Fitbit” to “Fitbit by Google.” Two years later, Google makes a new twist and integrates Fitbit into its line of smart watches and bracelets once and for all.

Aiming for greater consistency across its products, Google has quietly updated Fitbit’s official website and now displays the new “Google Fitbit” logo.

The brand is now identified in the Google Sans font, used in all other Gigante das Buscas products, and abandons the dotted logo as a way to unify the visual identity.

With. “Fitbit by Google” branding was introduced. the debut of Sense 2, Inspire 3 and Versa 4 in August 2022, with promotional materials and device packaging highlighting the “Fitbit” logo and keeping the “by Google” identification less relevant.

We also saw the debut of the Pixel Watch 2 (revision) which incorporates the “with Fitbit” branding as a way to identify the features of Software from Fitbit were also part of the smartwatch launched by Google.

In January, the Google has fired hundreds of people and several Fitbit leaders left their positions with the internal reorganization that unified the teams hardware of the lines PixelsNest and Fitbit.
