According to the official synopsis, Sidney Sweeney plays Cecilia, an American nun who decides to continue preaching her faith in a remote convent in the Italian countryside.
The nuns of the convent welcome Cecilia, but everything turns into a nightmare after she becomes pregnant, even though she is still a virgin, and discovers that her new home hides a sinister secret and other horrors.
The horror film has been “saved” for several years, as Sydney Sweeney shared during her visit to “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon” during the promotional tour.
The actress shared in the interview that she auditioned for the horror film in 2014, but ultimately the project never materialized. Years later, Sweeney took over the film as a producer, acquiring the script, adding Michael Mohan as director, and eventually selling the film to Neon for distribution in the United States.
It was in February 2023 that Sweeney announced on his Instagram account the end of filming on the film.
The director shared that ‘Immaculate’ is a mix of ‘Rosemary’s Baby’, ‘The Exorcist’ and ‘The Demons’ thus drawing the attention of horror movie fans who are eager to watch this film.

Directed by Michael Mohan (“The Voyeurs” and “Everything Sucks!”) and starring Sydney Sweeney, Simona Tabasco, Benedetta Porcaroli, Niccolò Senni, Dora Romano and Álvaro Morte, “Immaculate” will be released in the United States States on March 22, while in Mexico it will hit theaters on April 25.
