‘They are distorting our history and our culture’: Disney in the 90s angered many people in its country of origin.

When the famous Disney studios decide to revisit a work, a legend or revive the culture of another country, sometimes the result does not completely satisfy the people mainly interested.

Although the artists of the Enchanted Company literally had a series of critical and commercial triumphs in the early 1990s, they tried to tell the famous legend of Hercules, taken from Greek mythology.

The result: a colorful feature film full of humor and a stark departure from the original story, which prominently featured Hercules launching his own brand of sneakers, Hades smoking a cigar, and the Muses singing gospel.
