Long films not your cup of tea? Well, the short film festival has started!

From March 20 to March 26, 2024, short films are in the spotlight during an event entirely dedicated to this cinematic format, which is not always appreciated at its true value. Whether you are already a big fan of these short films or just a curious viewer, the Short Film Festival has a very complete and varied program for you, with almost 150 films to discover for free!

After a successful previous edition with a total of 17,000 screenings in more than 4,300 municipalities in mainland France and abroad, as well as in 66 countries abroad, this short film festival aims to once again share the magic of this format with the greatest this year. A number of people, especially an audience far removed from the culture.

Open to everyone, this event is also an opportunity for the audience to participate in activities, meetings, workshops, conferences and master classes organized especially by St. cities of ambassadors such as Amiens, Caen, Marseilles, Metz, Paris and Toulouse. A new city joins this long list this year: Neuilly-sur-Marne.

Directed by Zacharie Chasserio (Hippocrates), this film tells the story of Jules, a twenty-year-old market worker. Punished for feeling three strong emotions, he must choose his limitation: a mime or a fanfare that appears by exaggerating each of his emotions for a year. He chooses fanfare. Then the real ordeal begins, between the oppressed family that doesn’t understand him and his budding love for the beautiful slave. Will he get his difference?

A variety of topics

Supported by CNC, the short film festival spotlights all kinds of films aimed at everyone, including young audiences. There we find gems like Fierrot le pou, one of the first projects created by Mathieu Kasowitz before La Haine.

Other actors and actresses well known to audiences are also highlighted in many of these films, such as Catherine Deneuve, Swann Arlo, Anna Girardeau, Bastien Bouillon, Corinne Masiero and Anouk Greenberg…

The various short films offered are divided into 5 main themes:

  • Main: films that bring together the best French actors and directors;
  • Young audience: aimed at the youngest with themes of resilience, self-discovery, tolerance…
  • Short Film Friends: Celebrate the richness and diversity of short films together;
  • Are you an athlete there? : 2024, the year dedicated to sports in France;
  • Unitary: Very wide range of choices.

This year, the short film festival will also be held online from March 20 to 26 with additional content offered through certain partners such as AlloCiné.
