50 years ago, it was balanced 417 meters above the ground: this incredible true story can be seen on stream!

Passionate about tightrope walking and thrill-seeking from a young age, French artist Philippe Petit never shies away from new challenges. While he plans to scale the heights of Notre-Dame de Paris, he is looking for the ultimate achievement to finally make history.

It was in the dentist’s waiting room, casually flipping through a magazine, that he began to outline his greatest gift by observing a photograph of the World Trade Center in New York. His decision is made, and his entire existence will henceforth be devoted to fulfilling this dream: to stretch a cable above the void between the twin towers, 417 meters above the ground, and walk on it.

An extraordinary true story

Yes – because this is obviously the first question we ask ourselves about this extraordinary adventure – The Walk is indeed adapted from a true story! French artist and acrobat Philippe Petit, who in 1974 crossed the space separating the Twin Towers on foot, moved on a wire.

Like a real heist film (since the entire operation of the artist and his team was, of course, carried out with the strictest illegality), this atypical biographical film, released in 2015, benefits from the talent of its main performer, Joseph Gordon. – Levitt, but also and above all the know-how of his director.

Avoid if you are afraid of heights!

Known for his inventiveness in storytelling, Robert Zemeckis, best known for directing the Back to the Future trilogy, who created Roger Rabbit and Forrest Gump, directs the breath taking show.

Stunning and literally dizzying, “The Ride” is absolutely to be avoided if you are at all afraid of heights: our colleagues who tested the virtual reality experience when the film was released can confirm this!

Otherwise, and if you enjoy an adrenaline rush, I recommend you dare to walk on this unforgettable wire (without looking down)!
