Relapse | Amazon releases an unprecedented live-action scene

Prime Video has brought an exclusive scene from the Fallout adaptation and shows a bit more of the interaction between protagonists Lucy and Ghoul in the chaotic Wastelands

Fall is Prime Video’s major debut in April, as well as being one of the the most anticipated video game adaptations of the year. Carrying all this expectation on his shoulders, the Amazon has released a new live-action exclusive scene, showcasing a bit of what fans will find when the series debuts streaming the 11th.

The video is relatively short and, at less than 2 minutes, shows some of the chaotic atmosphere of it all post-apocalyptic universe. Indeed, it marks what appears to be the first meeting between the two protagonists of the plot. On the one hand we have Lucy (Ella Purnell), the inhabitant of Vault 33 who sets out to explore the inhospitable Wasteland. On the other, Ghoul (Walton Goggins), one of the victims of the nuclear holocaust that decimated part of humanity.

There isn’t much context around the scene, but there are some interesting details that emerge right from the start. Although Prime Video has placed the two characters at the center of the plot, in this first moment they seem to face each other, with Ghoul represented almost as an outlaw who comes to end the peace of the Wasteland.

Another detail is Lucy’s insecurity. Of course, her less assertive way of approaching the apparent villain has a hint of humor, but it is something that clearly indicates what the heroine’s personality will be. Having just emerged from the isolation of Vault 33, she isn’t sure how to deal with the hostile, ravaged world and its peculiar rules—and that’s something we should see throughout the series, as the girl learns to cope with this new reality.

However, what really attracts attention is the arrival of one of the members of the Brotherhood of Steel with his impressive armor. For video game enthusiasts Fallthe simple appearance of the costume is already a huge nod to the universe of the games, especially for the visual fidelity.

The series will bring an unprecedented story set in the same universe as the games. The plot shows a world 200 years after the nuclear apocalypse has devastated humanity and in which only a few people have escaped this massacre unharmed by taking refuge in the Vaults, large bunkers that function both as self-sufficient cities and as social experiments – something that inhabitants of these places are unaware… And it is when she encounters the new world that Lucy will have to learn to live for herself.

Fall will arrive on Prime Video on April 11 and will release all eight episodes at once. The adaptation is directed by Jonathan Nolan, responsible for the series Westworldas well as being one of the screenwriters of the trilogy Batman commanded by his brother Christopher Nolan.
