“Pirates of the Caribbean”, one of Disney’s most successful franchises

Although some film experts predicted it would be a flop, it turned out to be just the opposite. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl earned $46,630,690 in its opening weekend, taking it to $654,264,015 worldwide.

With these numbers, Disney ordered a sequel titled Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men’s Chest, which premiered in the summer of 2006.

As Sparrow searches for a way to escape his fate, he upsets Will and Elizabeth’s wedding plans, drawing them into misadventures involving Will’s father and other secrets.

‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ villain admits he had a bad time on set because of his wardrobe

To play Davy Jones, actor Bill Nighy had to wear a special suit to capture all of his movements in his scenes, which later came down to CGI experts to give us one of the best villains in the franchise, which I didn’t have a good time during the shoot.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Nighy shared that during the tapings he felt “lonely and miserable” to the extent that no one from the production team ate with him.

“People wouldn’t have lunch with me, it was really sad. The technical team would say ‘hi, hi’ and leave, because it was pathetic to see this mature old man dressed as if he couldn’t join a famous rock band,” he said.

Due to the extraordinary work required of the character in the area of special effects, since he had to look like a really scary sea creature, the actor had to wear a special suit that captured all his movements, except for a lot of white dots, so that all the gestures they remained.captured in perfection.

“It turned out I had to wear computer pajamas covered in white pom-poms, a hat, 250 dots painted on my face and a pair of shoes that were too big for me,” she added.

Although in this suit he met Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom, which he did not like at all, Bill Nighy is proud of his work as Davy Jones, having had the opportunity to give him a voice with a deeper Scottish accent that actor favorite.director Gore Verbinski.
