A new war for the Iron Throne will rage in the new season of House of Dragons. The prequel to Game of Thrones season 2 has today revealed its first images, as well as the long-awaited broadcast date: fans will have an appointment from June 16 to discover new episodes of the program!
Targaryen blood will flow
Set decades before the plot of Game of Thrones, House of Dragons traces the legacy of King Viserys Targaryen. His succession is contested by his daughter Rhaenyra (and her husband/uncle Daemon), as well as his second wife Alycent Hightower and their eldest son Aegon Targaryen.
The first season ended with the death of King Viserys. This disappearance led to the division of the kingdom, and the two heirs of the Targaryen family declared themselves sovereigns of the kingdom of the Seven Kingdoms. After an attack that claimed the life of Prince Luceris, Rhaenyra’s youngest son, an infinite point is reached.
Green Trailer for Dragon House Season 2:
A new broadcasting platform for the series
To showcase this division of the Targaryens, Max Platform revealed two different trailers: green (referencing the color worn by King Aegon’s followers) and black (the color adopted by Clan Rhaenyra).
A new spin-off adapted from the Knight Chronicles will launch this summer. Several other Game of Thrones spin-off series are also in development, including a prequel about the story of King Aegon I Targaryen (conqueror of the Seven Kingdoms) and an animated series about the Sea Serpent Fleet.
