An integrated action between the Municipal Guard and the 5th Civil Police Station of the Capital arrested two suspects for cable theft in the Santa Tereza neighborhood. The offensive, launched on Friday the 22nd, targeted abandoned land used to cut, strip and burn telephone cables.
The individuals, aged between 41 and 25, were carrying approximately 60 meters of wire when they were approached by officers. The material was recognized by the technical team of one of the dealerships providing services in Porto Alegre. For this reason the two ended up under arrest for qualified reception.
“Integration between security forces is fundamental to fight crime. We remain mobilized in actions like these, throughout the city, with the aim of guaranteeing greater security and qualifying the services provided to the population”, says the deputy secretary for Security , Commissioner Zottis.
