The next drama from Kurt Sutter, who, among others, has the wonderful Sons of Anarchy with Charlie Hunnam, Kate Sagal and Maggie Siff, will be a western coming to Netflix!
Created and produced by the showrunner, The Abandons is set in 1850s Oregon, where abandoned souls who live outside of society band together into several tribes to form a family and fight the corrupting forces of power that covet their land.
The new series will explore the line between survival and the law, the consequences of violence and the destructive power of secrets as this family fights to keep their land.
If the 10-episode project already looks intriguing, its casting is just as intriguing: we are talking about Lena Headey (Game of Thrones) and Gillian Anderson (X-Files, The Fall, Sex Education). Two famous actors are joined by Nick Robinson (Jurassic World, Love, Simon) and Lucas Till (MacGyver).
As Deadline reports, more names are being added to this already prestigious list today, including Patton Oswalt ( AP Bio ), Michael Ornstein (Sons of Anarchy) or Elle-Máijá Tailfeathers (Three Pines).
The project will actually merge Kurt Sutterwho also played the character of Otto Dillane Sons of Anarchyand Michael Ornsteinwho played Chuck in the same series as well as its spin-off, Mayans MC, two series created and co-created respectively by Sutter.

The showrunner will also reteam with Clayton Cardenas Maya’s MC (Angel Reiss), but also with Sarah Grace White and Brian O’Byrne, who starred in his short-lived historical drama The Bastard Executioner.
Other recurring stars of the show include Diana Silvers (Booksmart), Lamar Johnson (The Last Of Us), Aisling Francios (Game of Thrones), Natalia Del Riego (NCIS: Los Angeles), Haig Sutherland (Lucky Hank), Jack Doolan (The Boys), Jonathan Kuensgen (Reacher), Kathleen Wells (Jin and Georgia) and Mark Menchaca (Ozark).
