“Planet of the Apes: Reign”; the new teaser shows the world dominated

In three films we witnessed the collapse of the world as we knew it and the rise of the apes. This year, Planet of the Apes: Reign continues the previous trilogy and shows a world closer to the one seen in the original 1968 film. A new teaser released this Saturday (23) reveals something more about this new kingdom.

Check out the new teaser for Planet of the Apes: Reign

The film is set many years after the end of War for the Planet of the Apes and shows a world now completely dominated by apes. Now it’s up to Noa to uncover the mysteries of a kingdom ruled by a new king.

The sequel will star Kevin Durand as Proximus Caesar, the franchise’s new villain. Owen Teague will play the new protagonist. In addition to Durand and Teague, the cast also includes Freya Allan (The Witcher), William Macy (Fargo), Eka Darville (Jessica Jones) and Lydia Peckham (Cowboy Bebop).

It’s worth pointing out that although the Planet of the Apes films most remembered today, and which revitalized the franchise, are the 2011 (Inception), 2014 (The Showdown) and 2017 (The War) reboots, the originals are much more the old ones, launched from 1968 onwards.

In total, there are nine films: five major feature films, a single remake from 2001, directed by Tim Burton (and without continuity), and the new reboot trilogy that began in 2011: the first film was directed by Rupert Wyat. . Matt Reeves took over the direction of both sequels.

Directed by Wes Ball, from Maze runner, The Planet of the Apes: O Reinado will be released in theaters on May 23.
