After a five-year absence, Rick Grimes is finally back! The iconic character of The Walking Dead left the horror series during season 9 after being seriously injured and then airlifted to an undisclosed destination.

However, the former sheriff made a brief appearance in the final episode of the program in December 2022, announcing his own spin-off show called The Ones Who Live.

Originally developed as a feature film, then a trilogy of TV movies, this spin-off eventually saw the light of day as a six-episode series.

The long-awaited reunion

who lives (Those who survived, in French) therefore marks a big reunion between Rick and Michonne after more than eight years apart. The series will also offer a more global look at the post-apocalyptic world, including the introduction of the Civil Republic, which is responsible for bombing the city of Atlanta at the very beginning of The Walking Dead.

Particularly involved in the project is Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes), who is credited as the lead actor and co-creator of the series. The status was also given to his partner Danai Gurira (Michone), screenwriter Scott M. next to Gimple.
