According to the firefighters, the crash occurred around 8.40pm and the last radio contact occurred while the plane was flying over the Serra do Japi. The destination would be Campo de Marte airport, in the capital of Sao Paulo.
This Friday, firefighters found debris that could have come from the twin-engine plane. “Fiber objects that may have come from the aircraft were found in the area,” the company informed. According to TV TEM, affiliated with Globo, there was only the pilot on board the plane, but it is not known whether he was alive.

According to the National Air Force (FAB), investigators from the Center for the Investigation and Prevention of Aviation Accidents (Cenipa) went to the scene and confirmed that it was the missing plane, the Piper Aircraft, prefix PT-WLP.
Teams from the national agency preserved the site, collected data and analyzed the damage caused to the plane to begin the investigation. “The conclusion of the investigation will take the shortest possible time, always depending on the complexity of the event and, also, the need to discover possible contributing factors”, reads a note from the FAB.
The plane is a Piper Aircraft, produced in 1995 and has a capacity of six people. The reason for the fall has not yet been clarified.
