A very personal project
David Cronenberg’s short film Death is I’m Coming to terms with my death, coming to terms with it metaphorically and literally. And then my wife died in 2017. We were married for forty-three years. A big part of me died with him.
“This movie is also a way of embracing him, embracing this part of him that was me. Of course, you can’t tell that when you watch it, I have to tell you.”The director emphasized.
“People who know me well will know which parts of the film are autobiographical.”He added, suggesting that the character played by Vincent Cassel would be a sort of alter ego of the director. Cronenberg is sure to attend Cannes 2024 to present his new film, which hits theaters on September 25.
