The first semi-final of the Women’s Super League has been confirmed. Osasco São Cristóvão Saúde secured their place this Saturday (30) after beating EC Pinheiros by 3 sets 2 (22/25, 25/20, 25/15, 15/25 and 15/13), out home, and won the best -series of three by 2 x 0. The day before, Gerdau Minas visited Fluminense and scored another 3-0 against the rival, setting up the first semi-final.

In the other semi-final, Sesc Flamengo awaits the definition of the quarter-final series between Dentil Praia Clube and Sesi Bauru. Next Tuesday (02), the teams will compete in game three to define the last semifinalist of the national competition. In the first two matches the matches ended in a tie-break with the victory of the home teams. Leaders of the qualifying phase, Sesc Flamengo eliminated Barueri with two consecutive set victories and confidently heads into the semi-final.

In the qualifying phase, Osasco São Cristóvão Saúde won both matches against Gerdau Minas. In the first round, the Sao Paulo team won the classic by 3 sets to 1, in scores of 25/16, 25/23, 12/25 and 25/17. And in the return leg, Luizomar de Moura’s men attempted a spectacular comeback after losing 2-0, in scores of 23/25, 22/25, 25/21, 25/21 and 15/12.

The semi-final table of the Women’s Superliga should be announced after the final match between Dentil Praia Clube and Sesi Bauru. The two teams that reach the final will compete for the national competition cup on April 21st, at the Geraldão gym, in Recife (PE), in a single match.
