We knew the Obi-Wan Kenob series was completely rewritten after the initial version of the script was considered too dark. And this is really confirmed today by screenwriter Stuart Beatty from the site in an interview with our American colleagues. Direct ! Asked about the first outline of the script, the latter revealed what was the original fate of the Inquisitor’s award, which then developed into a cinematic trilogy (but was canceled due to the box office failure of the film “Solo: Star Wars Story”).
Reva, played by Moses Ingram, is the main villain in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Driven by boundless hatred towards the Jedi, he is the third and does everything he can to find and eliminate Kenoba. But in reminiscing about the Jedi apprentice’s past (and the massacre of Padavan by Anakin Skywalker, of whom he was an eyewitness), Reva finally returned to the bright side of the force in the last episode of Obi-Wan Mini. – Star Wars Series.
But the end of the Inquisitor was initially darker; In his interview, screenwriter Stuart Beatty really revealed that in an earlier version of the screenplay, Reva had to die, killed by Darth Vader (the latter was left dead in the Dark Lord and Grand Inquisition at the end of episode 5 before re-appearing injured – but alive – and In 6 episodes on Tatooine):
He must have been killed by Vader. I wanted to end his story, his role in uniting Kenobi and Vader ended. (…) That’s what I meant for him. And because of the horrible deeds he did, I thought he should die. In my eyes it was impossible to forgive his guilt.
Therefore, it is the more optimistic version of Obi-Wan Kenobi that has finally seen the light of day, in the form of a six-episode mini-series rather than a trilogy. Despite the attacks suffered by his translator Moses Ingram, Reva was still one of the program’s most popular characters, to the point that character-oriented spin-offs are now the hopes of many fans of the Star Wars world.
