French movie Just announced the release date of the featurette: Jeff, Cathy, Mamie Susie, Donald, Stephanie and Wilfried will be back from February 5, 2025 to make the audience laugh.
We still don’t know exactly what this fifth opus will be about, but after the American dream and the French presidency, the lips are set to meet the British royal family, as shown in the teaser poster, which features a potato in a porcelain teacup.

The first film in the saga, directed by Jean-Paul Rouve
The director of the feature film for the first time will be Jean-Paul Rouve, who will replace the director of the first four parts, Olivier Barroux. Producers Richard Grandpierre and Olivier Barrou “will not be associated with the new film due to artistic and financial differences,” as Satellifacts reported last May. On the other hand, Isabel Nantes, Sarah Stern, Pierre Lotin, Theo Fernandez and Claire Nadeau will return for this film, which is still being produced and distributed by Pathé.

5 months ago, Jean-Paul Rouve entrusted the microphone RTL :”I haven’t done any movies and I love being on set“. Knowing he was at the helm of his first “big machine” as a director, he added: “We’re doing bigger Asterix-style movies, whereas normally I do movies where I shoot with my camera and three actors… there’s a green background, special effects… I don’t know, I don’t know. How to deal with this could be a disaster.“
The first four films brought more than 14 million viewers to French cinemas. The most successful episode was Les Tuche 3 in 2018 with 5.7 million entries. The last part, released in December 2021, in a context still disturbed by the Covid crisis, was a bit disappointing, with 2.4 million entries, or less than half of a third.
