Petrobras reported on Thursday that no decision has been made regarding the distribution of the special dividends, commenting on media reports.
O Globo newspaper reported earlier that government ministers had agreed to pay the extraordinary dividends withheld by the board of directors in March.
Petrobras recalled that the board proposed to the Ordinary General Meeting that the amount of 43.9 billion reais referring to the residual profit of the 2023 financial year be entirely allocated to the capital remuneration reserve.
The power to approve the allocation of the result, including the payment of dividends, lies with the General Meeting of Shareholders, which will be held on April 25, Petrobras added.
