Actor Peter Claffey (recently seen in the series Family evil) will be the knight Duncan and Dexter Soll Ansel (the young Coriolanus Snow from The Hunger Games: Song of Birds and Serpents) will be your egg squire.
The announcement was made by the streaming platform Max (formerly HBO Max) on social media.
The spinoff was originally announced in 2023 and will be written and produced by George R.R. Martin and Ira Parker (The Nevers). Ryan Condal, who serves as showrunner The House of the Dragonalso produces the new series.

Ser Duncan the Tall, in fact, is a name that appears several times in the original story, once he becomes one of the knights of the Kingsguard (and this is not a spoiler).
As for Egg, well, I can’t say much, but the guy is important (and any hint I give will be a big spoiler).
To the fans of game of Thronesyou can expect all the elements of the series you love so much, with the big houses, the behind-the-scenes gameplay and the power struggle.
But don’t expect dragons. The stories take place in a later period House of the Dragon and about 90 years before the first book of game of Thrones.

“A century before the events of Game of Thrones, two unlikely heroes roamed Westeros. A naïve but brave young knight, Ser Duncan the Tall (Claffey), and his diminutive squire, Egg (Ansell). Set in a time when the Targaryen lineage still sits on the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon has not yet faded from the minds of the living, great destinies, powerful enemies and perilous quests await these unlikely and incomparable friends.
