Michel Gondry + Pharrell Williams: The Little Mermaid Cast to Star in Highly Original Musical Biopic

After the Book of Decisions, a biopic about the youth of Pharrell Williams! Titled Atlantis, this musical feature film traces the author’s childhood happy in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

According to variety, Holly Bailey, who was recently seen as The Little Mermaid, would play one of the main roles. He will star alongside Calvin Harrison Jr. and Dewayne Joey Randolph.

Michel Gondry and his love for music

The love story of Michel Gondry and music is not over. But could it be otherwise for the grandfather to whom we owe the invention of the claviolin, one of the first synthesizers, in 1947? He also became famous as the drummer of the group Oui Oui and even directed some of their music videos.

He then did the same for Daft Punk, Radiohead, Björk, the Chemical Brothers, the White Stripes and the Rolling Stones, with the clip marking the birth of the Bullet Time effect that Matrix would later popularize. There was also the documentary Block Party and will soon sign a Pharrell Williams biopic.

Note that another animated project (with Lego bricks) will be released later this year, directed by Morgan Neville, called Piece by Piece. It is dated in France on November 20, 2024.
