The Japanese drama “The Blooming of a Dream” tells the story of a former high school teacher, who had to abandon her career due to an unavoidable problem. Aimless, she gets a job as a housekeeper in the dorm of a failed boy band, where she recognizes one of her former students.

When we achieve our goals, we think things will remain stable forever, but the upheaval in Asuka Nakamachi’s (Tsubasa Honda) life proves that this is not the case. She had long wanted to become a teacher and after spending a lot of time teaching high school students, she thought everything would be fine.

But, due to force majeure, she is forced to abandon her career and work as a teacher, forced to choose another way of earning money. That’s when she finds out there’s an opening to be a housekeeper in a boys’ dorm.

Without much choice, Asuka decides to take a risk and gets the job. The dorm she has to supervise is the headquarters of a failing boy band, and this becomes personal when she realizes that one of the band’s members and leaders is her former student, Dan Sagami (Fumiya Takahashi).

Dan is full of life and very dreamy, which awakens hope in the former teacher. If he used to help his students follow their dreams, now she is the one who feels inspired. She then decides that she will do everything she can to help them stand out in the Japanese music scene.

The miniseries has 10 episodes, each lasting an average of 46 minutes, and can be seen in the Netflix catalogue. The cast also includes names like Ryubi Miyase, Coki Yamashita, Keito Tsuna, Shoot Mori, Rintaro Hachimura and many more.
