HE’S A CHAMPION! Manaus FC became champions on Sunday evening (7) by beating Parintins in the final of the second round of the Campionato Amazonense 2024. With a goal from Dénis at the Arena da Amazônia, Gavião do Norte won the cup of the second round from Barezão and will compete in the grand final against Amazonas, champions of the first round.
Now, to define this year’s Barezão champion, Manaus will face Amazonas in the Amazon State final. Date and location will be announced by the FAF soon.
THE GAME
The first half started lively, with both teams trying to score. Manaus is more dominant and with Ibiapino threatens the goal of Parintins, who works hard, with a defense attentive to every move. In the 39th minute Gavião scores with Ibiapino, but the referee rules the shot offside. Tourão’s best chance was with Léo, but the ball grazes the post. Therefore, 0x0 in the first pass.
In the second half, Manaus continued to command the main actions of the match and immediately scored. In the 50th minute, Renanzinho scores with Dénis shooting, the ball is deflected by the opposing defense and ends up in the net, without any chance for the defending goalkeeper Robert. Parintins, despite being at a disadvantage, attempted to equalize but was wasted. Gavião tried to expand, but stopped at Robert, who saved many of the club’s scoring chances. Manaus beat Tourão 1-0 at the Arena da Amazônia and won the second round of Barezão. It’s a Gavião do Norte celebration!

STATE TITLE CAMPAIGN
Manaus reached the Barezão round of 16 final after having had their best season in Group A, finishing alone at the top. They have won 10 points in four matches played, with three wins, one draw and only one defeat. In the quarter-finals they beat São Raimundo 5-0. In the semi-final, they beat Unidos do Alvorada 4-0, and in the final they beat Parintins 1-0 and became second-round champions of Amazonense and will face Amazonas to seek the 2024 championship title.
