“Godzilla and Kong: The New Empire” tops the box office in Brazil

We had already talked here about what the new MonsterVerse film will be like, Godzilla and Kong: The New Empire, had a very strong debut in US theaters on March 29 and, even after nearly 10 days, continues to lead the local box office. In Brazil the situation is no different, and here too the film is at the top of sales in theaters.

The period analyzed was between April 4 and 7, when the film about the two epic monsters managed to gross R$ 8.9 million at the box office.

In the same space of days, Kung Fu Panda 4, which also had excellent box office receipts, managed to collect R$5.69 million. The horror movie The first prophecy came soon after, with R$3 million already raised.

A feature film from national cinema appears in fourth position: The Farofeiro 2, a comedy that has already raised R$1.85 million. The first film of this franchise, released in 2018, was a success with audiences.

Dune: part 2, a film that has raised a large investment and has a cast with the largest number of Hollywood stars among the productions currently screening, is only in seventh position in the period, grossing R$ 1 million. The film has already been in theaters for a long time, having premiered at the end of February, which explains the lower gross than the competition in April.
