Netflix announced on social media the start of production of the fifth and final season of “Sintonia”.
The new episodes do not yet have a premiere date.
Unlike season three, which was interrupted by a shocking cliffhanger, the outcome of season four left the possibility of the series ending up in the air. And this could have happened if it had not been for the success achieved on the platform, as Netflix itself underlined in a statement last year: “After the success of the fourth part of the series, which reached 1st place in the global Top 10 non-language series, English version of Netflix and was in first place in the Brazilian Top 10 for two weeks, ‘Sintonia’ will resume recording the final episodes until next year.”
The series follows Doni (Jottapê), Nando (Christian Malheiros) and Rita (Bruna Mascarenhas), three friends who grew up together in the same favela, influenced by the allure of funk, drug trafficking and the church. Each of them transformed their experiences into very divergent paths, but never too distant.
With the new episodes, the public will be able to follow the results of the great changes that occurred in the lives of the protagonists during the fourth year of production.
