After releasing the first mysterious and romantic poster on April 2nd, Joker: Folie à deux now offers us a trailer! It is highly anticipated that the film is a direct sequel to the first part released in 2019.
The work, signed by Todd Phillips, earned $ 1 billion at the worldwide box office and allowed Joaquin Phoenix to win the Oscar for the best actor.
The big question about this sequel was its approach: Will the movie be a musical? Last March, cinematographer Lawrence Sher talked about a musical piece… but in the end it wasn’t really a musical piece.
“There’s music, but it’s not strictly a musical, but… it just has music in it.”said technician A Online master class.
“The music is part of the movie and the characters, but I don’t know if it’s a musical. But there is music, as there was a lot in the first Joker. And there are things that we weren’t able to do in that. The movie and that, by extension, is part of the DNA of the sequel.”he added.
In Joker: Folie à deux, the Clown Prince of Crime reunites with his great love, Harley Quinn, played by Lady Gaga. Note that the success of the previous episode allowed Todd Phillips to get a bigger budget of $150 million (the first cost only $55 million) for the sequel.

The director, co-writer and producer would receive $20 million, the same as Joaquin Phoenix, who received “only” $4.5 million for his role as Arthur Flack in 2019. Lady Gaga, a newcomer to the world, would receive 10 million greenbacks. Among them, respectively, they represent a third of the budget.
Zazie Beats will reprise her role as Sophie, while Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, Harry Lotte, Gatlin Griffith and Troy Metcliffe will join the cast in as-yet-undisclosed roles. Joker 2 hits theaters on October 2.
