Romantic comedies are coming back in 2024. At least that’s what can be inferred from the releases both in theaters and on streaming services in the last and coming months.
Just a few weeks ago, for example, Netflix released “An Irish Wish,” starring Lindsay Lohan, while Prime Video has the rights to “The Idea of You,” starring Anne Hathaway.
The surprise in this new era of ‘rom-coms’ came from a film from Poland that quickly rose to the top of Netflix.
‘Nothing More Than This’, What is the Netflix Movie?
Titled ‘No Pressure’ in English and ‘Nic na sile’ in Polish, it is a Polish comedy and romance film directed by Bartosz Prokopowicz that tells the story of Oliwia, a chef from a big city who receives a message about the death of her her grandmother. Arriving in her original village, she discovers that she has been tricked into taking charge of the family farm.
Caught in a web of mysteries, Oliwia meets Kuba, a charming farmer who helps her adapt to rural life, discover the secrets of the farm and with whom she falls in love. What the young city dweller doesn’t suspect is that her lover is also hiding a secret.
The film combines elements of comedy, romance and mystery in a light and entertaining plot. The rural setting and the chemistry between the leads, as well as the colorful characters in the town are some of its strengths.
“Nothing more than that” is an ideal movie to have a good time and enjoy a simple and touching story, either as a couple or as a family.
The film is directed by Bartosz Prokopowicz and has a duration of 112 minutes, which is just under two hours.
