Saint Seiya: You Can’t See Season 2 on Netflix!

We’ve heard about a remake of Knights of the Zodiac for a while now, until we thought the animated series was just canceled by Netflix. However, that’s not the case as Season 2 has finally been announced… by Crunchyroll!

The Japanese animation specialty platform will indeed broadcast the sequel to KNIGHTS OF THE ZODIAC: SAINT SEIYA during the summer, reviving the program’s broadcast rights previously held by Netflix (also a co-producer of the first season); Renamed Knights of the Zodiac – Battle for the SavannahThis second season will adapt the very popular Golden Knights story arc.

Thus, this American-Japanese co-production is a remake of the famous cartoon from the 80s, adapted from the cult manga by Masami Kurumada (available from Kana Publications). Due to its graphic style in computer-generated images, which does not respect the manga’s car-design, but also because of the many liberties related to the plot of the original work, the first season of KNIGHTS OF THE ZODIAC: SAINT SEIYA generated very poor reviews when it aired in 2019 on Netflix.

So it seems surprising to see the series return, but let’s hope that its move to Crunchyroll allows this Season 2 to remedy the situation by offering a decent adaptation of this hugely popular narrative arc.
