What is it about?

Fallout tells the story of the survivors of a world where there is almost nothing left. 200 years after the apocalypse, the residents of a luxurious retreat are forced to return to the irradiated apocalyptic landscape their ancestors left behind and are shocked to discover the incredibly complex, hilariously weird and extremely violent world that awaits them.

who is he with

It’s a young Ella Purnell (perfectly seen in Yellowjackets) who headlines Fallout. She plays Lucy, an optimistic and righteous young woman who leaves an asylum to save her father (Kyle McLachlan).

Along the way, he encounters Maximus (Aaron Moten), a member of the Brotherhood of Steel who helps him on his journey, as well as Ghoul (a mutated man) played by Walter Goggins.

Is it worth checking out?

This is April’s big (and only) release on Prime Video. And we understand why. The platform released episode 8 of Fallout, the series adaptation of the hit video game saga, online yesterday.

For those who don’t know, these video games immerse us in a post-apocalyptic world with a retro-futuristic spirit, in which you play as several characters who must survive in a destroyed and lawless world.

Fallout is not a faithful adaptation of the RPG, but it is a new story in the same world. In other words, if you’ve never played, you’ll still understand things.

The first episode of the series, which takes place 200 years before the main action, sets the scene, but without giving away too much information. All we know is that the United States suffered a nuclear attack and that only the wealthiest – who could afford to build a shelter – were able to survive the radioactive fallout. Who is behind all this? You’ll have to keep watching to get the answers.

This is a pig.

The Fallout world is quite unique. Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan, who already work on Westworld, have created a world of unbridled violence through the eyes of Kingsman. A style they obviously borrow from video games, where it’s very common to shoot enemies’ heads at point blank range (in slow motion, as a bonus) or slash their bodies. The choice of music, often country, confronts and soothes this gory side.

But if that’s not your cup of tea, then move on. Also read on if you’re an entomophobe (especially cockroaches), because the series is full of insects and other beasts that have undergone genetic mutations over the years (or close your eyes like the author of this article).

Once we get over these few quirks, we’re more than happy to immerse ourselves in this strange and crazy world and let ourselves be guided by its (sometimes unbearable, but predictable) protagonist, who discovers the wilderness like us. While searching for her kidnapped father, she meets a mysterious scientist (played by the brilliant Michael Emerson) who can change the world…
