The movie “Highlander” has since become a science fiction and action classic. Now, the story will get a new adaptation with Henry Cavill at the helm.

At Lionsgate’s CinemaCon 2024 presentation, Cavill expressed his excitement for the project and promised fans an epic experience: “If you thought you’d seen me work with a sword before, you ain’t seen nothing yet,” he said, referring to his I used to work on “The Witcher”.
The 40-year-old actor, who claims to be a big fan of the original film, acknowledged that the script initially raised some doubts because of the changes it made to the source material. However, he assures that these changes will help deepen the characters and create a more complete story: “I’m a fan of the original movies, for better or for worse, and it’s one of those things where when I read the script first, ‘Maybe I wasn’t really not sure where they were going, but gosh, we’re going to dig into these characters.”

At this time, Cavill is the only confirmed cast member. While it hasn’t been announced which character he’ll be playing, it’s easy to imagine him as the protagonist, Connor MacLeod, an immortal warrior who must fight other immortals until only one is left.
The new film “Highlander” will be directed by Chad Stahelski, known for his work on the “John Wick” saga.
